W Hotels has unveiled the W Prague, marking the Marriott brand’s entry into the Czech Republic.
Located on Wenceslas Square, W Prague occupies the site of the former Grand Hotel Evropa. The property features 161 guestrooms and suites, including the WOW Bohemia Duplex, the signature W Lounge, and Above Rooftop.
Architecture firm Benoy and AvroKO’s London studio worked in collaboration with local designers Chapman Taylor to reimagine one of the city’s most iconic landmarks drawing inspiration from Prague’s cultural richness and the building’s Art Nouveau roots.
W Prague’s whimsical design

The color palette leans on the original tones of the protected heritage building, including earthy hues of yellow, beige, terracotta, dark grey, and a unique green across the stucco decorations. In conjunction with the restoration, a contemporary nine-story elliptical shaped wing, designed by architectural studio DAM, was added to the property.
The concept of golden elixirs and magical gardens, inspired by the dreamlike art of Czech artist Alphonse Mucha, is woven throughout the design. The design of both structures, for instance, incorporates whimsical and escapist elements, while a corridor connecting the two spaces is draped with embroidery inspired by elements of a fantastical garden, complemented by floral chandeliers.
The interiors also boast striking art and glass installations curated by Adam Ellis Studio and local artists, including psychedelic wall art at the bar Bisou, and a garden mural by Michael Škapa, which serves as the centerpiece of the W Lounge Garden.

“As we debut W Prague, we’re not just opening a new hotel—we are breathing new life into one of the city’s most iconic landmarks,” says George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader of W Hotels. “W Prague fuses the enchanted history of the storied destination with bold, visionary design, creating an experience that both honors the city’s deep cultural legacy and embraces its vibrant, modern energy. This opening is a further representation of W Hotels momentum in Europe and beyond—setting a fresh standard for what luxury can mean in the heart of such a beloved city.”
