Gotham, the world’s first cannabis concept store, recently expanded its presence with a 4,000-square-foot location in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood.
Gotham Williamsburg is the inaugural retailer to operate at the Refinery at Domino, a revitalized 19th-century landmark that once operated as a sugar factory.
Locally based, family-owned real estate development firm Two Trees Management selected Gotham to occupy the space due to the brands’ shared commitment to merging lifestyle, community, and culture.
Adjacent to the bustling five-acre Domino Park and newly opened one-acre Domino Square, the store invites guests in with large arched windows and a custom tree installation by interdisciplinary artist Molly Lowe. A frequent collaborator of Gotham, Lowe crafted a willow-like tree that cascades green materials from the ceiling, creating a natural focal point within the space.
The brand’s curated selection of products are displayed beneath the installation, as well as on open shelving around the perimeter of the store.
“Gotham is New York, and we are thrilled to have this world-class concept open at the Refinery,” says Bonnie Campbell, principal of Two Trees Management. “The Williamsburg community has championed our local retailers since the opening of Domino Park, and this latest addition brings culture and connectivity to this already thriving district.”
Campbell continues: “We love what they are about, fusing culture and entertainment with luxury cannabis lifestyle products, and we know they’ll bring a high-end experience and premium products to locals and our tenants.”
