Omni PGA Frisco Resort Tastefully Taps Into Golf Culture
Jeffrey Beers International hits a hole-in-one with the new destination in Texas

Located on 660 acres and home to two 18-hole championship golf courses, the 500-room new-build Omni PGA Frisco in Texas evokes a modern, palatial home.
“Golf was our focus, but we wanted to be careful that it didn’t become overly golf themed, especially in a way that was not authentic,” says Omni Hotels & Resorts’ creative director and vice president of interior design Laura McKoy.
Omni tapped SB Architects and Jeffrey Beers International (JBI) to achieve that refined style, bringing a sense of intimacy to the sprawling resort with quiet nooks and cozy fireplaces. “There is so much discovery and unique spaces as you walk through,” says Nikoletta Stagias, senior associate at New York-based JBI. “It’s a very special place that makes you feel happy.”

Seating areas in the lobby “break [the space] into different moments,” says Stagias. The centerpiece stone fireplace features limestone sourced from Turkey, complementing RH sofas upholstered in Weitzner fabric and throw pillows by Osborne & Little, Romo Group, and Garrett Leather. Together with Visual Comfort lighting, Crate & Barrel chairs, a side table by Arhaus Contract, a custom coffee table from local vendor Shawn Austin, and an area rug by Marc Phillips, “you feel like you’re in a living room at home,” she adds.
Working with Robert Denney, historian emertius at PGA of America, six golf clubs hanging in the Clubhouse were donated by the family of Richard Metz, a professional golfer who won the PGA Tour 10 times in the 1930s and ’40s. Documenting the evolution of the golf swing, they are displayed in a case from Pacific Northern and backed by an MDC wallcovering in a subtle checked print.
In the reception area, guests are greeted by pendants from Preciosa, Charter Furniture benches in Demar Leather, and a Rulon International ceiling, creating an inviting arrival experience. Further, the marble- and white oak-clad front desk complements a plaster mural by Local Language, which nods to the topography of the 18th hole on the Fields Ranch East golf course, designed by Gil Hanse.
Local Language curated artwork like the deconstructed golf bags framed in the members-only Club 1916. Here, classic moments abound thanks to an Amtrend banquette upholstered in Bernhardt Design fabric and Garrett Leather, a table from Table Topics, and chairs from Delta Furniture and Eagle Chair. Valley Forge Fabrics and Demar Leather upholstery wraps the banquette dining chairs, while Preciosa lighting fits seamlessly with white oak millwork, giving the space “a slightly clubby aesthetic,” says Stagias.
In the spa, a textured wall above the hot tub from Ceramics Technics creates a soothing effect “the minute the light hits the pool,” says Stagias. “It also made sense to have something more visually appealing on the right-hand side, which is why we added [the botanical mosaic] from TileBar.”
“The beauty of the lobby is there are so many intimate [areas],” says Stagias, pointing to the platform seating sections that divide the space into smaller zones. Bringing a sense of warmth, Charter Furniture chairs in Valley Forge Fabrics mix with ottomans in a custom P/Kaufmann plaid and side tables from Arteriors Contract. A wallcovering by Élitis harkens to the limestone used throughout the property in a tailored way.
In addition to the Texas star sconces and pendants that line Trick Rider restaurant, Preciosa worked with JBI to craft the statement-making horse-shaped chandelier. “We wanted to take a masculine steakhouse and combine it with a [female] trick rider story and add sparkle to it,” says Stagias. Comprising 4,075 Bohemian cut crystal beads arranged on 572 steel wires, the 1,500-pound installation hangs from a custom ceiling mural recalling the Texas sky by Koroseal. Further, Charter Furniture provided Moore & Giles leather-clad barstools, while “the mirrors in the back add to an infinite view of the sky and the horse beyond,” she adds.
The rooftop pool’s location “ties back to the idea of being part of the golf courses,” says Stagias. “If you spin around, you see the entire site.” Umbrellas from ShadeScapes Americas cover loungers from Pavilion Furniture, Summer Classics cabanas provide shade from the Texas heat, and Ledge Loungers chairs and tables dip into the infinity-edged pool so guests can cool off. “It feels very active,” adds Omni’s McKoy.
The property’s 10 four-bedroom Ranch Houses, meant for families or groups, front the golf course. “They’re very communal,” says McKoy. Built by Coats Homes, they offer a residential quality thanks to Floor & Décor stone floors, Visual Comfort lamps, a sofa from Delta Furniture in Erica Shamrock fabric, tables from Bright Group and Lacquercraft, and armchairs from Charter Furniture upholstered in Erica Shamrock and P/Kaufmann Contract fabrics. Marc Phillips provided the rugs, which complement the wooden beams and large windows, “evoking a Texas modern aesthetic,” Stagias says.
