Minimalism reigns at Remedy Place, a social wellness club in West Hollywood from natural healing doctor Jonathan Leary. For the design, Los Angeles–based firm Bells + Whistles replaced traditional wellness tropes with a darker, moodier atmosphere. “We aimed to move as far away from the clinical or sterile aesthetic common in wellness spaces,” says Bells + Whistles cofounder and creative director Barbara Rourke. “It’s a place where you don’t have to sacrifice your social life to prioritize your health.”
Inside the raw concrete shell, rich materials—such as natural stone, grayed walnut, Venetian plaster, and smoked glass—complement a color palette of cognac, charcoal, and emerald, while plentiful greenery balances the minimal interiors. “We wanted clients to feel as comfortable and luxe as possible,” she adds.

Patrons are greeted by a custom reception desk backed by a slatted wall screen. They advance into the posh wellness bar before heading into the various treatment rooms, including hyperbaric chambers, a glass-enclosed meditation room, and individual and group I.V. suites punctuated by velvet lounge beds.
“Remedy Place is pushing boundaries in the health and wellness space with an environment that hasn’t been executed before,” says Rourke. “We were challenged to not only have a deep understanding of the flow and needs that go along with each treatment, but also how to elegantly pack them into the space.”
