Fettle has unveiled its latest Los Angeles project, Chez Mia, in collaboration with Boujis Group, the team behind restaurants the Draycott and Olivetta.
The 220-seat restaurant, located in the space formerly home to Ago, reimagines classic European gardens of the 1920s and ’30s, bringing a South of France escape to West Hollywood.
Under the direction of Marissa Hermer and Matt Hermer of Boujis Group, in creative partnership with entrepreneur Kurt Seidensticker and Fettle, the design of Chez Mia focuses on rich textures, geometric patterns, and lush landscaping.
Spacious al fresco dining at Chez Mia
At the heart of the 8,900-square-foot venue is an expansive outdoor dining area with a 30-seat bar flanked by two striking nine-foot fountains.
Boldly patterned banquettes and pleated umbrellas adorn the wraparound terraces, while custom pieces and vintage Sicilian heads lend character to the lush courtyard, which is enclosed by pergolas and drapery for private events and intimate dining.
A whimsical interior design
Inside, Chez Mia’s jewel-box dining room offers views of an open kitchen lined with chef’s counter seating. The space is illuminated by Italian-inspired chandeliers, complemented by gold mohair banquettes to create a late-night ambiance enhanced by whimsical, folkloric accents.
“Considering the prevalence of indoor-outdoor living in Los Angeles, it feels like there is a lack of exceptional and expansive outdoor dining spaces in the city,” says Tom Parker, cofounder of Fettle. “Chez Mia is going to present a high-design space for those looking for that sort of experience.”
