Janu, the luxury lifestyle sister brand of Aman, has opened the doors to its first hotel in Tokyo.
First announced in 2020, Janu properties exude an uplifting spirit and playful design narrative—a contrast to the serene aesthetics Aman is known for.
Managed by Japanese developer Mori Building Co., Ltd., the 122-key Janu Tokyo opens at the heart of Azabudai Hills with eight dining venues and a 45,000-square-foot spa and wellness center.
Janu Tokyo is housed within a landmark building and features architecture by Pelli Clarke & Partners and interiors envisioned by Jean Michel Gathy of Denniston.
Spanning eight floors, the hotel’s guestrooms emphasize Japanese minimalism and symmetry, creating a calm oasis amidst the city’s energy. European accents add a touch of opulence to the accommodations.
The Janu Suite, the hotelʼs largest individual accommodation, boasts two sprawling balconies along with a modern kitchen and bar counter, a dining table for six, a study-cum-library, and a lounge. When combined with its three adjoining rooms, the Janu Suite becomes one of the largest guestrooms in Tokyo at more than 5,500 square feet.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s eight F&B venues fuse European and Asian culinary styles through a modern lens, and each concept carries a bold, vibrant design narrative to uplift spirits. Take Janu Mercato with its three Italian open-kitchen counters, or the adjoining Janu Patisserie, a sumptuous marble-walled space to experience the art of Parisian pastry making.
“Aman has always epitomized luxury hospitality, with devoted guests at its heart, who repeatedly journey through our constellation of hotels and resorts,” says Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “Now, as we introduce Janu Tokyo, we are heralding a new era. The strategic decision to launch Janu reflects our commitment to evolving alongside the desires of today’s dynamic travelers who seek uplifting experiences and authentic human connections.”
Janu Tokyo is the first in Janu’s expanding pipeline of 12 properties.
