Six Senses is expanding its Italian portfolio with two new properties: Six Senses Milan, in the city’s Brera quarter, and Six Senses Lake Como, on the western shores of the famed lake.
These forthcoming openings follow the 2023 debut of Six Senses Rome, located within the restored Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini.
Six Senses Milan
In the heart of the artistic Brera district, Six Senses Milan will take guests on a journey through craftsmanship and timeless style courtesy of Tara Bernerd & Partners. The property will be characterized by arabescato marble and antique brass detailing, as well as handmade smoked glass, textured ceilings, and mosaic borders.
The 68-room hotel—including 15 suites, two with private plunge pools—features an internal courtyard, an Earth Lab, a seasonal specialty restaurant and deli, spa, rooftop bar, and sky pool.
Six Senses Lake Como
The former Grand Hotel Cadenabbia is being transformed into Six Senses Lake Como, which will blend resort luxury with the region’s rich heritage.
Reducing the number of rooms to 102, the resort will focus on spacious guestrooms and an expansive wellness and spa area. Highlights will include an outdoor pool and sun deck, a floating pool on the lake, and dining options with lake views, including a terrace bar and restaurant on the fourth floor.
“Italy moves you like nowhere else. In few places do art, architecture, gastronomy, and the joy of living intertwine so effortlessly,” says Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs. “Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como both speak to a purpose. The first is intentionally sized and designed for attentive hospitality and holistic wellness within one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion capitals. The second is a serene escape within the most beautiful lakeside gardens just 90 minutes away.”
Six Senses Milan is slated to open in 2025, followed by Six Senses Lake Como in 2028.
As part of IHG’s recent growth in Italy’s luxury and lifestyle sector, these properties will join 30 open hotels, with eight more in development, including brand debuts for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Vignette Collection.
