The StandardX, a new hotel brand from Standard International, continues its expansion with the debut of the StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit in Thailand.
Following the brand’s initial launch in Melbourne earlier this year, the second StandardX outpost, which includes 62 guestrooms and two culinary concepts, embraces Bangkok’s art scene with a rotating gallery.
Located in Bangkok’s old town, the StandardX, Bangkok is surrounded by a creative enclave brimming with cafés, bars, restaurants, and a lively music scene. The hotel was designed as a collaboration between the brand’s in-house team, Studio Freehand, and Porntip “Mook” Attakanwong of ATT19.
Channeling Bangkok’s art scene
The StandardX, Bangkok is home to 10 10 Art Space, which features both rotating and permanent collections from renowned local artists. The opening collection includes art from Gongkan and MRKREME, whose work also adorns the property’s street-facing and riverfront façades.
To support emerging talent, the hotel also introduces an artist-in-residence program offering workshops, panels, and events for cultural exchange.
Similar to its Melbourne counterpart, the StandardX, Bangkok includes all-day Thai restaurant BANG and the Box, a retail concept store.
A commitment to sustainability is evident via a partnership with coffee growers from Pua District in Nan Province, a collaboration that bolsters the local economy and supports community livelihoods.
Crowning the property is the Roof, a concept inspired by the robust flavors of Mexico, as well as a pool with views of the Chao Phraya River.
