TreeDwellers has unveiled its inaugural property in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
Spanning 1,700 acres of ancient woodland in Cornbury Park, the retreat was brought to life by alternative accommodation expert and festival founder Tim Rees, in collaboration with EchoLiving, NSE Architects, and Quattro Design. The property comprises seven uniquely designed treehouses that effortlessly blend with nature’s curves using timber, glass, and tree-like steel.
“The treehouses are incredibly unique,” says Rees. “I don’t think most people would be daft enough to attempt to build with so many curves.”
Each treehouse, hovering 10 feet above the ground, is equipped with a kitchen, living space, one or two ensuite bedrooms, and an outdoor shower on a private terrace that provides a unique view of the forest below. Additional room features include sound technology, freestanding bathtubs, wood-burning stoves, and tablets that connect guests directly with the TreeDwellers team.
TreeDwellers aims to elevate the senses, guiding guests from high-alert beta brainwaves to the calm and restful alpha brainwaves to unlock peace and creativity. Hidden among the trees, for example, is the UK’s first woodland forest megaphone, a 30-foot-long structure that invites guests to immerse themselves in the amplified sounds and vibrations of the forest.
“The forest megaphone is a distinct feature,” says Rees. “To our knowledge, it’s only the third in the world and combines ancient sound meditation techniques with wood hand-sourced from a nearby forest and built by true craftsmen.”
TreeDwellers also offers private yoga classes, in-room wellness treatments, walking and cycling routes, and guided meditation tracks.
“We enable guests to leave feeling their bodies, minds, and souls have had a pause, a chance to recuperate and heal so they are ready to go out and face the world with a renewed sense of inspiration,” Rees adds.
